Dear SJHS families:
It’s hard to believe, but we are already at midterm! We’re far enough into the year that I thought I’d send out a few attendance reminders:
Absences can be excused by calling the school (801-489-2880) to leave a voicemail or by replying to the automated attendance email. Please allow 24 hours for absences to be excused.
Students should not leave school without being checked out through the office by an authorized parent or guardian. For the safety of our students, we need to ensure that we are sending them with the appropriate adults. (Students who leave school without being checked out through the office will be marked as a sluff.)
To ensure the safety of our students, we have a closed campus. This means that students should not leave school during lunch time. We want to make sure that all of our students are with us for the entirety of the school day.
When students arrive late to school or return from being checked out, they need to check in through the office, even if they arrive in between classes.

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we also wanted to remind our families that anything delivered to students throughout the school day is held in the office until the end of the day. We will send a note to students who receive deliveries that notifies them to stop by the office at the end of the day. The purpose of this is to reduce the amount of distractions during class.
